Our Approach

God has exalted above all things, His name and His word - Psalm 138:2

"2 I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word."
Psalm 138:2 ESV

"6 The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times."
Psalm 12:6 ESV

"20 He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction."
Psalm 107:20 ESV

As a result of these truths, we will proclaim and study Gods words here MUCH, and use the words of man LITTLE.

His words are to be found and eaten - Jeremiah 15:16

"16 Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O LORD, God of hosts."
Jeremiah 15:16 ESV

Often, we will study Gods word, one word at a time.

Many passages we look at are modified with a word in the scripture underlined. These words are linked to Blue Letter Bible (BLB) and reference a word study tool. These are words that we think deserve further study, reflection & prayer.

The best interpretation & commentary of scripture is other scripture. When you click on the word and link to BLB, scroll down to the Concordance Results where you will find the same word used in other verses of the bible... THIS is the best way to bring further understanding and clarity to your study. Remember that the Holy Spirit guides us into truth. John 16:13

We will not teach as doctrines the commandments of men - Matthew 15:9

"1 Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, 2 "Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat." 3 He answered them, "And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.' 5 But you say, 'If anyone tells his father or his mother, "What you would have gained from me is given to God," 6 he need not honor his father.' So for the sake of your tradition you have made void the word of God. 7 You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: 8 "'This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; 9 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'""
Matthew 15:1-9 ESV
